Treatment and Therapy Options
Consider the wide range of treatment options
Talk to your doctor about the yeast infection treatment that's best for you.
Some things to consider when choosing a treatment are:
    how well it works
    how fast it will work
if you have a recurring yeast infection
what type of yeast you have
    potential side effects
    other medications you are taking
and any other health conditions you might have
How is it Diagnosed?
The symptoms of vaginal candidiasis are similar to those of many other vaginal infections. Making a diagnosis usually requires laboratory testing of a genital swab taken from the affected area by a physician.
What treatment options are available?
Antifungal drugs which are taken orally, applied directly to the affected area, or used vaginally are the drugs of choice for vaginal yeast infections. Although these drugs usually work to cure the yeast infection (80%-90% success rate), infections that do not respond to treatment are becoming more common, especially in HIV- infected women receiving long term antifungal therapy. Prolonged and frequent use of these of these treatments can lessen their effectiveness. Common treatments are:
Prescription pill treatments
Because oral treatments have to be digested and travel through your entire body,
symptom relief can take up to 24 hours or even longer. With oral medication, you
are more susceptible to side effects and interactions with other medications you
you might be taking, like birth control pills, allergy, or heartburn medicines, and
certain asthma treatments. Some women need to get a second prescription
because their symptoms didn't go away.
Over the counter creams and suppositories
Over-the-counter topicals come in 1,2, and 7-day versions of creams or ovules,
which are inserted into the vagina. They can provide on-the-spot treatment of
yeast infection symptoms and faster symptom relief than an oral treatment. Side
effects are relatively low. Some women have problems with these creams leaking
out, or are uncomfortable with an ovule. If you think you have a yeast infection,
see your doctor - he or she can prescribe an effective 1-day cream that's easy to
use and less mess.
Fast relief from vaginal itching, burning, and redness:
A recent clinical study showed that Gynazole·1 provided
more women, just like you, with fast symptom relief that
began in just a few hours.
Single dose: Gynazole·1 works with just one dose. It is a
prescription cream, but unlike traditional creams, it stays in
place thanks to an advanced technology. Because the med-
ication stays on the yeast infection longer, you only need
one dose.
Ease of use: What’s more, since Gynazole·1 stays in place
better than traditional creams, it also provides greater
neatness. And the simple, prefilled applicator makes using it
easier and less messy for you.
Anytime dosing: Because Gynazole·1 has very little
leakage, you can use it anytime. This is different from tra-
ditional creams, where you are supposed to wait till bedtime
because they leak out. In that case, you’re stuck all day
waiting for relief!
Safe, effective relief: Gynazole·1 is a localized therapy
that stays put on the infection with minimal absorption into
your blood stream, so you have very little risk of it causing
systemic side effects or interfering with any other medication.
Gynazole·1 gives you the fast, effective relief you want with
the safety you need.
Patient Preference: Out of more than 25,000 women sur-
veyed, 97% said they would use Gynazole 1 again. Fast
relief is the #1 attribute patients want form their yeast infec-
tion therapy - almost all Gynazole 1 user experienced fast
symptom relief in less than 24 hours. (1)
