Symptoms
of yeast infections can be similar to symptoms of other kinds of
vaginal infections. This sometimes results in women diagnosing and treating
them-
selves with OTC medications. Surprisingly, more than half of the women who are
self-treating themselves don’t actually have a yeast infection.(2) Symptoms for
other vaginal infections (bacterial vaginosis or trichomonas infections) can be
similar to a yeast infection but these conditions are not treated with the same
medications.
It is important if you notice any symptom of a vaginal infection; see your
doctor
for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. |
